Anyone get 100 mile weeks on a regular basis? This is my next goal. At the moment I get about 85-90 miles per week riding 5 days. I know it's not a lot when compared to Ted, James, or Eric's 24 hour butt kicker sessions, but with a 9-5 and a wonderful family, a 100 mile week seems to be about where I can max out regularly.

oh yeah baby!! a 100-miler is a very solid week. a couple years ago I'd do more of those, but now I pull back a bit and keep it in the 60-70 mile range most of the time. I think the long weeks are good when you're building your "base", then you want to rest when events start coming up.
here, usually the rain is what keeps us from riding too much -- but when summer rolls around it's really easy to ride until you just can't ride anymore. and I hear you on the family front...the only way it works with my schedule is because I can sneak it in as a commute |

Wow! and I thought my 10 miles a day (work days) was impressive.
It's nice to see so many REAL distance pushers / pumpers. |

10 Miles is nothing to scoff about - thats good work.
Look at it this way...Can you run 10 miles at a time daily? I don’t know too many people that can. And look how much more you are getting to enjoy your surroundings by skating. If you take 1 of those miles and start sprinting it, that 10 mile effort just turned into a 3 mile jog. Running 3 miles a day….That’s just plain good health right there. And you had fun doing it……
Ya 10 miles is some nice work.
One thing that I really love about my trail is once I get out to a certain distance it’s rare that I see a jogger because it is so far. That puts me in more of a bike riders range of distance. And when you start beating slow to med paced bike riders----Well I always want to say “Are you really going to let a skateboarder beat you?” I never do, but I want too…..It’s an awesome feeling.

Oh no, I ride 4 miles each way to work and then often 2 more here and there at work or later around the neighborhood. But I do have some good 10 and 12 mile loops around town that I like to do on the weekends.
I agree about the slow bikes feeling. I love being able to draft a slow cyclist. |

I make my fiend ride with me. hes a beginner mtber, so hes happy to come along, even if I am a little slow for him. but we go 20+ miles, so saddle time for him is important. I draft him sometimes on any slight down hill.
we have a nice 17 mile rail trail here that I ride both ways, so thats 34. it is not boring at all if I wanted to do laps, maybe take it up to 51 miles
