I have been pumping for about a month now and I can get up some decent speed on flats and down inclines but when I try and go up any decent incline I quickly loose momentum and stop. What is the best way to pump uphill?
there's a small incline that I'm able to pump up when I take my board out for a spin to the postal box or library and what I typically do is start pumping frantically prior to the start of the incline. This way, you get some momentum going up it and aren't soley dependent upon the pumping you do on the incline because the pumping you did prior to the incline carries you partially up said incline. Does that make sense?
I usualy do this to give me a boost and I can get up a slight incline but my hill increases in steepness and once I get to a point there is nothing I can do that lets me keep going and I just stop

what i'm normally doing on flats is a slower, more relaxed pump...when i come to an uphill, i tend to weight the front more and do shorter, quicker, stronger pumps. it's a gnarly sort of workout pumping ferociously uphill.
I can now just about make it to the turn of just over half way up my hill with a good speed built up but it just gets steeper after that. Is there any technique that works better on hills?
I have been trying more but I cant get any further up my hill. Tried more powerful pumps but I loose speed quicker than when I make lots of quick pumps
