The official quiver

Front

Rear

Riding pretty well so far. I am still recovering from a bad knee sprain but am slowly getting back into it. I think LDP is going to save my knee as far as regaining flexibility and strength goes. I put this together last night and skated through the city today. It felt weird compared to my Dervish. I can pump both comfortably, but this is much more focused toward the front...a sort of wiggle, as opposed to the Dervish, which I pump more powerfully, diving with my whole body into the turn.

So yea, made it through the city, was feeling like I had a good time but that things didn't quite feel right. I made the decision to go back to the carvier yellow springs instead of my medium green ones that I ordered alongside the trucks from DaddiesBoardShop. After quite a pain in the ass getting the kingpin to go through the hole in those trucks and into the nut straight when putting them back together, suddenly it dawns on me the angle of the rear trucks and how they were situated past 0 degrees. I had put the Seismic on backwards last night. So I take the board out again with the yellow springs but the trucks on right this time and the board is riding much better, but I definitely needed the truck to be a little tighter so I went through the pain in the ass of switching it out and then it started raining on me. So.... tomorrow, I'm trying this puppy out again on a decent length ride methinks. Long as I get some a little sunlight and my knee feels alright.

Currently have an orange venom in the bottom and an orange khiro barrel in the top of my bennett. I was having a hell of a time getting the three-bushing khiro setup on there so I gave up and tried this out. I even tried cutting a white barrel in half with a knife and then scissors. Them things are tough! Also, right now I'm 4Presidents in the front and Lemon BigZigs in the back. I really wanted to use the BigZigs all around but I was getting some wheel bite just gliding around my apartment and didn't want to take any spills today. I need more riser pads. I am using Khiro angled risers on both sides with an additional 10 degree wedge up front and an additional 2 degree dewedge in the back. I don't know where that leaves me in relation to the board though, because they don't mark the angle on those wedged risers.

I'd like to thank James for the board. He sold it for a great price and got it here quickly. Just took me a little time to scrounge up the cash for the trucks and such. Long post, guys, but I am excited about this thing. Would love to hear any recommendations. There's enough information here and the gtcpldp site that I could spend all day experimenting with this thing.

Those are some good looking shots! What do you think of the potangs in front with the limes in back? That seems like a nice combo to me, might have to try it one of these days. As for cutting bushings, it can be a pain but Ive tried a couple different things and found some that worked for me. First, make sure you can hold the bushing in place well. I like to to take a baseplate with a fixed kingpin in it (any tracker, indy, anything really with a secure kingpin), stack a couple bushings on there with the one i want to cut on last. That gives it a nice base of support, lets you control how much you want to cut off (by controlling how much is hanging over the edge of the kingpin) and gives you a good place to grip while cutting it. Then i use a very sharp serrated (with teeth) blade or (even better) a dremel tool. Then i clean up the cut by rubbing it on rough grip tape until its even and smooth. For advice on dewedging seismics, i would check out the cyber mile thread in the upcoming events sections, some really good info on seismics there.

It's official. If I want to be a real LDPer I need a dremel, it sounds like. I like the purp/lime combo. I'm used to being able to run over bigger objects though with the combination of bigger wheels, flexier board, and not standing over the top trucks. But I can handle the sacrifice. I find that I can usually turn sharper with smaller wheels, so maybe that's coming into play, but really I just needed to put those on there to avoid wheel bite. It also makes the deck level because the wedging up front takes up a bit more space, so the smaller wheels even it out.
