|
|
Hey guys,
I'm in the process of ordering a whack of mounting hardware bolts (more than I'll probably ever need) because it's easier in the case of setting to have things like this on hand.
I know what I would require for an average board, but with all the heavy wedging, I was curious as to what you generally require, length-wise?
3"+?...

2.5" is the longest I need anymore. Unless your deck is particularly thick.
If you need much more than that, the wedges are probably too fat on the nose end. And that is the #1 mistake people make wedging, and why there is still the notion that pumping setups are "way off the ground."
Using sharply angled wedges with one very thin end, you shouldn't have to be lofted off the ground.
Always a good idea to have more bolts on hand, and you can always use cutters if you have way too much length, just be sure to sand down the sharp points if you go that route.
