I'm relatively new to this area, and have not been able to find a nice LDP trail thus far. I had heard about Struble while doing some searching. It was described as paved, flat, and a few miles long. Sounded perfect for starters!
I went there, and indeed, it was paved, but somewhat roughly so. This was also very much one of those trails that felt uphill both ways. It wasn't impossible to pump but certainly was a chore since the level sections were outweighed by the hilly ones.
That said, the trail itself was very scenic with ample shade and rest points. I'd recommend it more as a beginner bike trail, running, and stroll area.

After stopping by Downingtown Bike shop to purchase a helmet for my hard-to-size head, I swung over to Fairman's Skate Shop in West Chester for a skate meet organized on the Fish. The busy parts of town were difficult to navigate because of cars and pedestrian traffic. Once out in the suburbs, conditions were significantly better. With my trusty Subsonic Pulse in hand, we plowed through the various streets, back roads, paths, and whatnot's in a laid-back tempo.
Though a lot was new for me: the skate-mates I hadn't met before, the helmet, carrying a watter bottle along everywhere, not having knee pads or gloves, not having even a rudimentary first-aid kit along, and most of all, the location, it reminded me of times years ago when my wide-eyed friends and I would explore the paved waves around us in child-like excitement, before gear or skill or know-how or tricks or quiver size were even a remote concern.
On my way back to my temporary home, I noticed a place not too far away that had a wonderful hill. As I pumped and carved in bliss, I was stopped by some neighborhood kids who were butt-boarding on RipSticks so they could take a look at my board.
Being greeted by a cold shower to remedy the sweat accumulated throughout the day, I can safely say that today was very much a throwback to a kind of stoke I hadn't felt in a long time.
