Hrmmmm . . . .
Well, its good to see the stoke spreading at least.
Tri-ax glass, carbon fibre sandwich construction, eh? sounds like subsonic.
Seems VERY thick and very flat,
If the web designer is going to cite something with footnotes its best to actually include the footnote at the end of the page. |

nice catch! i'm glad to see this board, as I know AUS has some prohibitive shipping costs from the States and the fellas down under could use options. hopefully we'll hear something more about these.
those paragraphs come straight from an old wikipedia description! the only thing I don't like is how (in wikipedia) somebody added that last plug for certain truck manufacturers, as that wasn't really the intention of the article. and that's besides the fact that 1. they misspelled Bennett, 2. Originals and Revenges have some serious downsides for LDP (extra width, poor rebound, breakage) and that 3. "conventional" trucks actually are useful as a rear truck, with the right bushings. |

actually, sounds like a RoeSonicLarry
i'm curious about the thickness as well, it does appear thick. if it were some really lightweight balsa (or had foam!) it might still be really light. curious also about the concave/camber equation -- on the flip side, it's always a good thing to see options. the original Mermaid was a zero-concave mellow camber and only a handful were selling each year, compared with the others, that's why Roe discontinued that mold. |

| Hi there, this is my first post, although I have been looking at Pavedwave for the better part of a year. it is great that an Australian company has made an LDP deck. Funny thing is, I just recently got a Mermaid (which I love) and if i had known that i could support a local (for me that is), Aussie company, I def would have bought the FSU. I still may down the track, looks like a nice deck. |

I would point out that the max wheelbase on the FSU is over 3 inches longer than the stock Pulse, which might be nice for us larger skaters.
I'm pretty sure Subsonic could make a custom Pulse with a longer wheelbase though... |

Just thought i'd clarify a few things about this board. It was built for me by FSU, to use as an LDP board. It is a one off at present but Dave Kelly of FSU will try to build what you require.
This particular board is as stated, a ply, kevlar, carbon mixture with a touch of camber a good concave and a bit of flex even thought the board is a bit thick by LDP standards. Being a lard ass(120kg) the board needed to be well constructed and works pretty well. As usual a long board is more diff. to pump and it is taking a bit of time to get use to it than the short Pavel i was using. The main thing is it works well, originally set up with Radikals, wing and claw, but now with a front Bennet 4.3 and a rear Tracker 129 rtx. I could have bought a fully set up Mermaid for what i paid for the Radikals, the board and wheels, but was concerned my weight would overwhelm even a stiff mermaid. I may buy a Subsonic Pulse next as they are custom built. |

6 foot, yes i am a fat bastard, but still enjoy my skating, both DH and slalom. LDP for fitness is new to me, but most enjoyable.
