Local fellas doing an awesome skate down the length of Oregon.   Helmet-free speedwobbles at 4:27.   Hopefully they'll do what looks better to the media and the cops, not to mention the grey matter!

Oregon has some really gorgeous terrain, wine country, rolling hills, long stretches of flat and really hot further south.

"LongBoard OR, Cause for a Cure

What: A 360-mile longboard ride from Portland, OR to Ashland, OR to raise money for the Cancer Research Institute

Where: The event kicks off in Portland. The riders will make stops in Corvallis, Eugene, Roseburg, Grant's Pass, and Ashland, hosting benefit concerts in each location.

When: Kickoff day is June 18th. The entire route will take roughly over a week to complete at 50-60 miles per day.

Who: Ryan Blake, Matt Maller, Mikey Elstad, Blake Gardiner and Nick Freeland. Each rider will take a 10-15 mile shift per day, being tailed by a vehicle with support crew. Riders will longboard from sun-up to sun-down, stopping only to sleep, eat, and host the benefit concerts."

If someone does, I'd recommend a route similar to the STP.   There are maps charting that whole course over on cascade.org.   You'd want to launch mid-June, this crew is kickin off June 18th.  

btw, got a mail from Ryan Blake, and sounds like these guys have thought through the safety issues for the actual ride.   Stoked for them!!
