James posted about headlamps in another thread and it prompted me to start this thread - anybody else into recreational trespassing for a hobby?

I've been doing it for years now, great times - have even mixed it with my longboarding a bit, for scouting around for new spots and also using the board to get to places where there is nowhere safe to park nearby. Also, a few years ago when I was just starting to get back into skating (it had been since grade school!), I found a great abandoned building with expansive smooth cement floors and the privacy I needed to get the hang of such basics as pushing, turning, and balancing, which I felt like an ass doing out in the public eye. heh

I won't comment on legalities but at one time I went where ever my curiosity took me. Now being older, a father, and supposedly wiser I don't do it often. Though it may also be due to the fact that it is majorly boring around here.

My all time favorite was in upstate New York. I was on a cross country motorcycle trip. Having felt in a mood to see things rather than get somewhere I started taking back roads. After awhile I got way back and wound up coming to where a entire town had been fenced off. I found that someone had left the gate open just enough to get my bike through. So, I went exploring. It was a real town with everything you might expect. There was nothing obviously wrong with the place, it just looked like they all got up and left. Then someone fenced the place in and rerouted the roads around it.....Something I'll never forget.

and no it wasn't a set Smile

Was playing around with simple video editing last night and wound up making this:

Maybe next season I'll edit together some longboard footage and make a vid, it's pretty fun.
