hey, someone just emailed me and said he got a notification for a "New" thread... this shouldn't be happening.

I should get them as Admin, and you should get email notifications for threads you already added something to or started up in the past.

please add a note here on this thread if this is happening to you, I'll see if there's any pattern.   his settings show all notifications as 'off' so this is odd.

thanks!
james

I get an email for every new thread. I think I did something to cause this because it wasn't always that way.

I first noticed that this started happening over the holidays--so Christmas or New Year's.

if you go to http://pavedwave.myfastforum.org/index.php (main page)

and go to the bottom section named "Who is online", just above that title, there are three links

"Mark all forums read | Watch all forums for new topics | Stop watching any forum"

click on the appropriate one.  I knew I had to done something to get new topics...

Ah, good catch.  Maybe the php webforum suits changed some defaults in an exec meeting over the holidays.

Thanks for the input guys, I don't think its a huge dealio but I just don't want members thinking they're getting intentionally spammed.   If you like the feature do leave it on!  Smile
