I was curious about using the stock Bennett bushings - starting from that point rather than tossing them all out, since I heard they actually weren't bad.  My Bennett 6.0 JUST arrived...
I was going to try picking up a set of white barrels and stacking them as my bottom, with the stock bushing retained up top, as my first try.
Yes? No?  Ever try?

Also, for decks, I see that Sk8kings has a deck that's called the "maximus", I believe... 9" wide all the way up past the front trucks, has a 22" wheelbase - there's nothing for decks on the shopping list, but would that be one to consider?  Any experience with it?

I think stacking your white barrels will be too much bushing - there's not enough kingpin for you to do that.

On another note, Sk8kings makes some custom bushings for the Bennett - it's a blue instead of red.  And, for the top, it looks like they have two cone Khiro bushings melted together (orange for me at 145lbs - they ask for your weight).

As for the maximus, if you're thinking of an LDP deck...  that's not it.  I have an Axe 2.5, and it's fun for short distance stuff and portability, but the lack of flex is really something else.  I'm not quite used to it yet.

Also, I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to pump the thing with the rear truck mounted on the kick-tail and being so stiff and all.  I can kind of get it on flats with some speed, but if there's even a slight degree of incline at all, then i'm screwed.  I don't quite have "the tossing the salad" or the "the chop" techniques down.

All the decks at sk8kings are designed for slalom - TS, HS, GS, and SGS.  They're all stiff as rocks.  I'd liken slalom technique to sprinting 100 meters or something, where as LDP is more like a marathon.
