I mean, I could change my name, but then that would break my post history, etc - meager though it is, I still don't wanna ditch it.
I spose if there was a way to change my name without starting a new profile I'd be down for it to be nice, but it's still a weird thing to ask someone to do.

I don't see why silverfish zap can't modify or just come up with another nick. I've been juggling 3 nicks because my preferred choice was occupied on different sites and forums, so I don't see the problem.
No need for you to jump through any hoops. You picked zap first, fair and square.

there was a guy who called himself "pavedave" on the Fish a couple years back, and for a long time new people would shoot me mails and call me "Dave" after that... so I went out to see if the guy was being a total tool or something -- fortunately he wasn't.
but short story, I could kinda empathize with that silly Zap guy over on the Fish. kinda.  |

No, no, no James you can't be Dave! I've been using that name for 45 years and my Mom gave it to me......Of course maybe that would give me the chance to change my name to something ........else
Funny to think that someone on "The Fish" would think that they could get someone over here to change their name, but it shows how tight the community can be. For what it's worth ZZ it was very cool of you to change it for him, now he still has his identity an you will have yours....
