|
|
Hello everyone.
I have a question about Carver CX trucks - and the standard Carver bushings. Mine are working great but I have a new Khiro bushings kit and I was wondering if there are any possible improvements I can make for LDP, by changing the standard Carver bushings for something else.
They are great as they are, but any extra pump speed is always welcome!
Thanks!

Carver CX bushings has always been a problem for me because every combination was chewed rapidly. I tried various Khiro duros (white, orange, blue) and nothing resists more than a couple of runs. Recently I tried the red Paris which are rather hard, almost the same duro as the original carvers. They lasted about 2 hours. Then I tried red Holeys : conical on top with the stock carver washer and hourglass on bottom without any washer directly on the base plate. Well this was several months ago and it lasts. Although I don't ride this board every day, this is by far the best bushing combination I've tried for this truck. The hourglass height seems perfect as I don't dig the pivot cup anymore. It also hads rebound that is missing with the original bushings.
I believe in Holey hourglass on various trucks. I know that they are used on Bennetts. I currently use the grey ones on Paris 180 (also directly on the base plate) and it's a huge improvement. |

Thanks Mimosa! Merci beaucoup! That is a really helpful reply.
I don't yet have problems with bushings wearing out (maybe I need to PUMP HARDER ), but I just want better performance. In any case I'll try your suggestion tomorrow when I go out for my regular pumping session.
Thanks again!
I'll post up my impressions.

OK I've got the Holey Ruby Reds on my front CX truck. Good. Can't wait for daybreak so I can take it out for a ride.
But the Holeys won't go on the rear truck because of the cup recess in the base plate.
Mimosa did you mean to put the Holey bushings only in the front truck? Should I leave the rear truck with the stock Carver bushings?
Thanks again for your help. |

Sorry that my previous message was not clear. You are right. I only replaced the front bushings. The back ones are still the stocks from Carver.
I hope you don't have too much rain in England. Here, in Lille, it's a disaster today. |

Sorry about your weather! I hope it's not heading our way, we're preparing for a 15 mile charity skate on Saturday (I'll be pumping on my CX set-up - now with Holey bushings! ) - so please, let the sun shine!
Mimosa many thanks. |

| Then I wish you a happy trip and please let us know what you think about these bushings at the end of the 15 miles. |

Sorry for the late response!
A happy trip indeed, for me and the other 200.
15 miles seemed no problem. The carver trucks are really great. ...and now I know that Mr Holey's wonderful bushings work so well in them, there are all kinds of possibilities for tuning. Thanks again Mimosa. The 15 miles were a breeze. I felt so relaxed, I rode in a skirt. |

this is awesome feedback-- i haven't been riding CX's for quite a while, but have been trying CX red bushing as a top bushing in my Bennett, and holey bushings in Bennetts as well. i'll definitely try holeys in the Carver now.
congrats on the ride BFBoarder -- cool to hear so many stoked on the distance scene over there |

Here's a little clip of the Carver CXs on a flat cycle track along by the river. I love these trucks!
