Hi - new to Ldp and not stepped on a board for almost 20 years, but I'm really interested in Ldp and love the look and the feedback that the Roe Mermaid has.

I have taken the plunge and ordered a complete Mermaid from Stoked which should be with me in 3-4 weeks time (I'm in the UK).

I followed the weight guidelines and ordered a medium flex (I'm around 160-165 pounds), but these are out of stock until next week.

This has got me thinking about the light flex which I'm at the very top end of the weight scale.

What are your opinions on the best Mermaid flex for someone my weight?

It would be really useful to hear from people actually around my weight range who have a Mermaid and the flex/experience they have.

I've learned so much from this forum already and I know this is only the start...

Thanks for your thoughts Guys.

You may want to read through this thread: http://pavedwave.myfastforum.org/about568.html     There's a lot of feedback on Mermaid flex and it helped me out quite a bit in the end as I'm also newish to LDP.

Hi Nat - really appreciated your time and thoughts today, genuinely invaluable.

That's the first time I've seen a Mermaid in the flesh and it was certainly a beautifully finished board, quite special really.

Looks like medium is probably the way to go, but now I've seen those Virage trucks it looks like things could get a little out of hand...

Nat - I may pm you about set up if that's OK?

Hi Nat - It's really the set up of the complete Mermaid from Stoked.

The Virages will have to wait...

PM sent - thanks.
