I know it may seem odd to not use wedging on a truck, particularly a front one, but with kingpin forward designs wedging does have a different effect to regular kingpin style. There comes a point where wedging a forward design doesnt do anything much at all...
The way they turn will of course feel different, partly due to the spherical, partly due to the path the axle takes.
What I would also say is there is a finite limit to the angle this style can take, one way to see this is to remove the bushings and look at the spherical from beneath.
By all means try different wedging, but Id tend towards bushing choice and experimentation first. Particularly as with the slalom trucks we actually offer have less angle on them.

Got mine Friday. The front truck is turnier than I was expecting. I tried the blue eliminator bushing on the front but think they are too soft. I ordered some orange ones. The combo I like with waht I have is blue on bottom, red venom elim and shaved khiro yellow barrel on top.
The rear is really nice. I got a red eliminator and red khiro barrel. It started squeaking so I tried the soap-in-the-pivot-cup trick and it worked but now there is a weird clicking when they are turned hard. I cannot figure out what it is but it does not sound good. It's almost a popping sound. I also ordered green eliminators for the back. If anyone has figured this one out.......
So far I'm pretty im impressed. It is so nice to not have to mess with wedges and the height difference is noticable to me. I'm pumping very easily and dont understand what I would have to adjust to coming off Bennetts. |

I had the same sound, I also don't know, where it comes from, but my theory is, that it comes from the kingpin seat.
My Weekend was really good experience: I tried a orange barrel (shaped) on bottom and blue elim and orange cone on top. For me, the elims seem to be too broadly as a bottom, so the truck cannot turn wide.
But in generel the pumping feeling became very controled and powerfull. I have the feeling, that its more going forward with each carve, and its a rounder way, the truck takes, even if I try to pump harder. |

i have 3 white khiros up front and for someone who has only slalomed beore and not done any real ldp, i felt it was too turny. Really, really easy to get speed up from pretty much a standing start but i don't feel like i'm getting much return from the deck.
if i put in a really big pump it felt like it was digging in.
I'm going to put harder bushings up front and tighten it up a wee bit.
The joy is the fact that it needs no wedging. |

On the protos I'd been running orange Venom cone bottom + white Khiro barrel top + another orange Venom cone on top of that (no bottom washer) but with the production LDP run, I think there's a little bit more meat in the baseplate, so the 3" kingpin's just a hair too short to squeeze on the washer + nut on top. So this weekend I ran a white Khiro bitch on top of the barrel, and will probably change it to a top orange Khiro cone for better response.
Funny thing is, having these mounted to the G-Bomb's front "pump" bracket, I'm getting used to the front angled even a bit more than the 60 degrees already built in! |

Hey Everybody,
todays weather in germany isn't that nice , so its time to ask a question:
1. I am riding 75mm Otangs on the virage, with 3/8" risers, but still have problems either with the turning ability, or a wheelbite, depending of the bushings (my weight is 95kg). Would be nice to know, what the other viragedrivers have tried.
2. How about climbing hills with the virage? Or going against strong wind?
Greetings from wet germany,
Philipp
Update: I am using now a harder Bushing on bottom of the front, which fix the seat from hanger on kp better and avoid wb. With soft bushings on top (white barrel / orange cone) it works best. I am still very interested in the experience from the other drivers. |

| I tried venoms, barrels and eliminators, but they feel weird to me. I currently am liking khiros, front blue barrel bottom and top orange barrel with blue cone. Rear red barrel and yellow cone. |

Can anybody tell, what wheelbase he rides? I am tall, but one of the things, wthat is also different with the virage is, it feels better with a shorter wheelbase than before. It is now 29", before with the Bennet/Trackers 30,5".
That also make climbing hills more affordable....

I'm considering getting a Virage to replace a Bennett 5.0 on the front of my Mermaid.
How will this handle with a Tracker 129 on the rear?
Do Virages really have to used as a pair? |

Virage front + tracker rear will be fine. Although performance wise, I think you may find the biggest difference will be had from changing the rear to a Virage and keeping the Bennett up front.
I think there's certainly no reason to limit Virages being used only as a pair.
