One note on the clicking with venoms, if your bottom bushing is soft or conical your body weight can compress the bottom bushing significantly enough to create some wiggle room on the top of the hangar. This can allow the top washer enough freedom to knock against the kp nut, causing clicking. The other option is that its the same issue as james was having with the spherical, although im not sure how bushings would affect that. You might want to try a harder bottom bushing (or a barel instead of a cone) to resolve the clicking.

The front truck - I'm still playing with bushings. Two white Khiro barrels and and orange cone on top felt kind of similar to the Bennett 5.0, although I could make it wheelbite if I put all my weight on the front corners (running the thinnest 1/8" shock pads that Michael kindly sent with the trucks). Got a odd clicking noise after changing to Venoms, although this had gone after juggling through different bushings. |
Have you tried blue venom eliminators? (Michael suggested them to me and I think I saw them in a photo of James' board but can't find it now). I'm using them plus a shaved khiro barrel on top and really like it. TNTRide and Daddies Board Shop have eliminators in stock.

I marvel at all the clever details, and I'm sure I'll discover more. Thanks Michael for these most handsome of trucks and to JP for the testing and LDP in general |
I couldn't agree with you more- on both counts. |

Yes, I've tried the blue Eliminators - that's when I got the clicking. I've got an orange Eliminator on the bottom now and a blue E on top capped with a Khiro cone. Works OK but I'm sure to tweak a bit more (eg switch the top Eliminator for a white Khiro barrel). I think I liked the 2 white Khiros best but they made me wary of wheelbite and I would like to keep the risers to a minimum. The wheelwells on the Pulse help in this regard. I may try slightly smaller wheels too.
One other thing, the Virages have cured the mysterious creaking that I was getting with the Bennetts. I could never get to the bottom of the creaking, despite greasing pivot cups etc - I suspect it was something to do with all the wedging.
LDPanda - thanks for the tip. The clicking did indeed stop when I put a harder bushing on the bottom, although I didn't check if it came from the top washer - I don't think it did, as the top Khiro has one of those stuck-on metal caps. There was no clicks with the white Khiros. |

My Virages have arived also
It takes a little getting used to but I like 'm allready. Put 1/2 inch riser on them cause I really don't like wheelbite. |

HAPPY to say the production Virages finally wended their way through US customs. I thought this stuff ended with the Bush administration Awesome to see the embossed "Virage LDP" on the hangar!
Not enough time to set up yet, but off for some weekend adventures, hopefully skating with Eric from Texas and G-Bomb Mark if all goes well, assuming the weather gives us a freaking break! |

Hallo everybody,
what a great forum. I am really impressed from this sport and I hope, to meet some of you freaks somewhere
I also got a beautyfull pair of trucks from Michael a few days ago and my question about the virage is:
Did anybody tried some little wedging in front yet? I was riding the bennett with 18° before, that was a big difference.
Greetings from Germany,
Philipp |
