The last and only time I skateboarded this ride was 2006.   The ride has always been very informal and commemorates the May 18th eruption of Mt. St. Helens.  I think the $30 entry fee covers the cost of a Redhook Brewery pint glass and a tee-shirt.   This year they've got a concert planned as well.

To give you an idea how "competitive" this 41-odd mile course is, you get two drink tickets with your entry fee as well, redeemable at either of the two breweries.   Yep.   Reeeal competitive, just my speed    Very Happy

Some random links about the Haul Ash...

Haul Ash Bike Ride & Concert

Redhook Ale Brewery
14300 NE 145th St. Woodinville, WA
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Redhook Ale Brewery’s 14th annual “Tour de Brew” is a roundtrip bike ride for every breed of cyclist – especially for those that love a cold brew after a long pedal. Haul Ash commemorates the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens and journeys 41 miles round-trip from the brewery in Woodinville along the Burke-Gilman trail to Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood – the birthplace of Redhook. Once in town, riders will cross over the Fremont Bridge and satisfy their thirst at the half-way point on Nickerson St., before saddling up for the return ride.

Back in Woodinville, riders will be treated to an outdoor afternoon concert and celebration in Redhook’s grassy Bowl Amphitheater. Live performances from local favorites Salem, Handful of Luvin, and Panda Conspiracy will begin at Noon. Entry to the concert is included in the rider registration fee, plus there will be all-ages GA entry available at the gate – so invite your friends and family to celebrate your triumphant Redhook pilgrimage with you!

For registration information visit www.Redhook.com

Well since this lands on the same day as "Fast and Furious" slalom in Graham this year, I may or may not do the ride.   Depends on family schedule stuff more than anything.

Cool, my main limitation will be that I gotta get back by 6 p.m. which means leaving there around 4:45.   Hopefully I'll have a car that day, and I could take someone down as well.   I'd rather not force you guys into that schedule because I'm sure there will be some post-race imbibements somewhere local.

The Haul Ash was really more of going for the crowd, the concert, and the brewskis.   And of course 41-mile training runs are always good.   But def would rather make the slalom gig now.

You should come either way. Bring your DH board too, its a wicked hill.

I have a fulltrack hangar on an RTS baseplate that shipped with my AXE 2.5 I didnt like it much but sk8kings thinks its a good setup i guess. Ill bring it along just in case. I know jackman will probably bring at least 3 different setups and im sure hed be willing to let you ride one. Youre always welcome to try mine too although youd prolly find it pretty stiff for your weight.

Im thinking ill prolly be near your neighborhood around 8:00 since the race starts at 10:00 and its a bit of a drive. Ill give you a call tomorrow to sure up plans tho.
