OK, your examples are for riders heavier than the flex range, but I'm about 140 lbs.  which was just right for the Medium flex board (as advertised on the Roe site), but below the Medium flex on Stoked.

Is the board I'm going to get from Roe going to be way too stiff?
Should I kit it up and try it out, or something else?

My gut tells me that based on feedback from many riders, No -- your board will not feel anything like way too stiff.   165 is what we're now listing as the very TOP weight for a Light flex board.   The only way to gauge flex is through overlapping ranges, because on each "fence" there is always a good degree of preference that comes into play.   I think you'll be fine, just keep in touch, I'll be waiting to hear what Alan has to say on this as well!   -jp

Stoked is my FAVE online skateshop. They have always done me right, now with RoeRacing there I have another excuse to return.

Kudos.

Know how you wake up from a dream and wonder if it was real or not?   This one was pretty vivid, so I just jotted down everything in case it is...including jpegs, don't ask how I did that!   Smile

"Pre-production speedboard ....

Lightweight  and stiff as an iron beam with just enough damping to absorb high-frequency vibrations and chatter.  Extra glossy carbon fiber finish"

you didn't get to bring it home?

Bummer, but let Gareth know he's got a winner if looks and breeding mean anything.
