Ok, guys. It's official. RoeRacing has started selling its goods through Stokedskateboards.com. This should provide easy access to a healthy stock of Mermaids. Order up...

Big ups to James and Gareth! This is going to be great. Two great companies pairing up to provide the best equipment out there.

Roe couldn't have picked a better partner than Stoked. I've purchased from them several times and have always had a positive experience- plus the prices are great!
Question- I noticed that the weights for the flexes are different than they are on the Roe site. Which is correct?

I've been trying to get the Mermaid flexes tuned more from rider feedback (including my own.) The flexes are posted slightly different right now between Stoked and the Roe site - basically there should be some overlap between them, which denotes that there is definitely preference that comes into play for people who's weight range is "on the fence." Notice there's roughly a 50-lbs range in each flex.
Flex:
Light (under 165 lbs)
Med (150-200 lbs)
Stiff (190-240 lbs)
In other words if you're 160 but you prefer a stiffer flex in general, go Medium. If you're 200 and you prefer a flexier deck, go Medium. Hope this helps and would really like to get more customer feedback from all the decks out there! |

That's exactly what I weigh and ride. Some people feel like it's too flexy for them -- however, I still know very few people who ride significantly long distances on a regular basis. I'm still on a Light flex board from the beginning of 2007 and it feels nearly the same as from the day it was built. One thing I never do is "trampoline" my boards to the ground, this just ages the birch prematurely. |

Damn! I could be but a few clicks away from a Roe mermaid! $180 I could afford to spend ... but shouldn't ... but could ... but ...
Ok.
Walking away from the computer. Hoping they're sold out when I come back, of course I will probably be devastated if they are. Ah man. Just ... Argh!
However .. I am selling my complete Dervish to a friend for $150 ..
NO! BACKING AWAY FROM COMPUTER!
EDIT:
I am weak. But now I can bring the girl along for some LDP'ing! _________________ Gawd

| I also weigh 165 and I ordered the medium flex based on the rates posted on the Roe site: Light (under 120 lbs), Med (120-160 lbs), Stiff (160-200 lbs). The new rates are very different. I really want a deck with some flex (but not as much my Flexdex slalom board)- am I gonna have any/enough with the medium flex?...I guess if I wait a few more days until I can actually try it I'll be able to answer my own question. |

| PM'd you Alan, get in touch after you get on your board a bit. We'll make sure you've got the right ride. Take some comfort knowing 165 is about the 'heaviest' one would want to go with a Light flex... |

| I went to the Stoked website and under "availability" it says: usually ships in 3-4 business days. Is this for real? |

Yep, while the boards are in stock, they should ship fast.
Right now there's still a misprint on the slalom PS boards -- they show both "3--4 business days" and "3--4 weeks", which I've alerted the Stoked guys about. But as far as Mermaids (and Cross-Steps) go, they're IN stock at the moment.
