|
|
I am a firm believer in replacing truck parts when their worn out or damaged.
So when I was trying to come up with the correct triple bushing height I thought I had damaged my pivot bushing. It squeaked on each pump I called Khiro they said their small pivot bushing fits is the soft one is stock on the bennett truck. I asked if i could come on up and buy a few since I live less than 10 mile from the Khiro factory.
They don't sell to public so I bought the bushing kit from Muir skate.
I pop in the hard pivot bushing the truck does not squeak and it feels like a smoother ,stabler ride to me

i also agree that replacing worn parts is good. the problem for me is tossing my board in the garage after a ride, not taking time to inspect, and letting my stuff completely disintegrate before I realize it. case in point, my soft pivot cups on two of my front bennetts, which inadvertently created a "custom" bennett, with a worn down hangar pivot and worn out baseplate cup, i could almost fit a randal cup into one of them now...
so yeah, check your pivot cups often! and i do like the hard pivot cups better than the soft ones -- they last longer and i think have less squeak. |

| Once your hard pivot bushing gets worn and needs replacement you'll have to let me know the secret to removing it. Throwing the baseplate in the freezer didn't help either! |

i use needlenose pliers, sometimes have to scratch up the baseplate in the process but i'm way past trying to keep my stuff looking good. |

I have always used a regular screw drive stick it in the pivot .
Get it worked up a little then grab it with pliers to pull it out. _________________ Terry |

| Thanks for the advice, but I've tried both small needlenose pliers and screwdrivers. The pivot cup just breaks off in small pieces. |

|
|
Has anyone else found it difficult to get a hard/small Khiro pivot into a Bennett truck? Some of my Bennett base plates are such a tight fit that it is difficult to insert a soft pivot, and seemingly impossible to use a hard pivot cup. Are there any helpful tricks or techniques? _________________ Rick |
