Winter Skating in the NWWell, the weather has turned in the Pacific North West, and Im not sure what to do. Ive tried skating the Gilman and Cedar river trails despite the weather, but Im beginning to get discouraged by the amount of maintenance I have to do afterwards (cleaning/drying the deck, cleaning/relubing bearings etc.). So Im wondering what you other Washintonians do in the winter. Are there any good parking garages near me (U district)? Are there other options I havent considered? Thanks in advance.

The NWLB crew has some good garage sessions at night here and there. UW Garages, downtown there are a few, etc... We had a group of 30+ around this time last year under "red square" and at the garage down by the medical center. But that was too big a scene, and security perked up soon after...so now we try to keep the tribe size smaller.
If you're ever game for a bit of cone dodging, we sometimes do an early sunday morning thing, it's no bust but the garage is a business so we have to stay low-key.
