Wheel Core making a "Creaking Door" sound?

After some use on my zigs and tangs, I get a squeaking that I have diagnosed to the bearings (Built-ins) shifting in the core when pumping.  It only starts to happen after I clean my bearings a couple of times.  I can see that the core is dirty and I try to clean the core and dry the bearings of excess oil. Sometimes it helps or reduces it. But it seems like once the wheels get it, its there for good.  It's a very irritating sound when pumping.

JP your soap in the pivot cup was genius - so I thought I's ask first before I start trying random things. Loctight was my first idea...

I believe I had a similar problem a few months back. I solved it by using different wheels but Gunther also suggested using flat soda as a mild adhesive in the wheel hub to prevent the outer race from slipping around the core. Sounds like it would work to me. I gave the wheels i was having a problem with to a buddy of mine, he flipped them and hasnt complained of any noise so running them inverted may help.

Is it almost like a "creaking door" sound rather than a squeak, at the same specific point in your pump / turn?   This has just been happening to me and this all now makes sense...it was a board I just changed wheels and bearings on over the weekend.   I kept picking up my board yesterday and spitting in the pivot cup -- this usually works for a few miles, and also draws some huge stares if people see you doing it.   They think you're having an argument or kinky sex with your board.  But anyway, there was zero change in sound...gotta be the bearings!

LDPanda hmmm flat soda - thats right because when it dries it would be sticky. I could try that.

JP "Creaking Door" more accurately describes the sound.  And you right it is at the same specific point in the pump /turn.  I'll change the thread name.
