What Bushing Setup?

If I'm 160 LBS, running a Bennett Vector 5.0 up front and a Tracker RTS 129 in back, what bushings from a khiro bushing kit should I run where?

I weigh about the same, depending on the season.   My preference in the front bennett is orange barrel top, while barrel + orange cone bottom.  But know that the barrel + cone is actually too tall, so it will take some elbow grease to smash them down into place, and they will deform "perfectly" over time.  Otherwise you can shave/modify the bushings to fit.   On the rear RTS, usually either yellow barrels top and bottom or red top, yellow bottom.

He meant white.

now when you say top and bottom, which end of the kingpin is which?  Is the bottom the side closest to the baseplate?

Yeah bottom means baseplate, top is nearest the ground when you're riding.

This is from the "Gear" page and sums it up even better

The flat washer between bushings is an interesting idea.

i couldn't find any flat washers around here but i've been running the same kinda bushing deal on my Walkabout, using a small cupped washer instead:

top bushing is an old Tracker hourglass, seems to work well for me.  the cup washer between the orange and white Khiros gives a good progressive action - the white compresses easily, then moves onto the orange as you lean more.

i find it gives a nice smooth soft action when pumping slowly, and as soon as you get up to speed (and start throwing the pumps around a bit more) it prevents the front from getting too "tippy".

I read somewhere here that people glued double bushings together and I didn't have any glue so I just rode it with bare dbl conicals.  I saw that when compressed the bushings would slide against each other and turning felt squishy.  So I wondered if I stuck a washer in between it would act like the bushings were glued.  It worked, I got better rebound and return-to-center and felt I was pumping more efficiently.
