To Zig or Big Zig, that is the questionI've seen the polls, I've read through the forum, but I haven't seen any direct comparisons of 70mm Zigs vs 75mm Big Zigs (maybe it's just my search skills!). Would I be losing a lot in terms of performance going with Zigs over Big Zigs. I live in an area of Anchorage, AK with miles of beautiful asphalt paths to ride on--any thoughts?

You might lose a bit of momentum, but you would gain that back in acceleration. It would also drop the deck a little more for pushing. Sometimes I like to roll on smaller wheels just because it's closer to the ground and it feels faster for some reason. If you have good trails, you really don't need the crack protection that 75+mm wheels afford you.

Camel,
Thanks for the input. Yah, I've mainly been into downhill speedboarding lately and I run both sizes as well, but I wasn't sure if the same rules applied for LDP since I'll be running flats instead of relying on gravity.

That's funny. I got into DH after i started LDP fitness type skating. I am running 97mm flys on my DH setup. Those things are uber smooth.....

Camel,
Huh, small world! Yah, I started investigating LDP because I've got 100x more flatland paths than I do ride-able hills here in Anchorage. I rode downhill almost exclusively when I lived in Albuquerque, NM, but now that I live in the land of "jaws and claws" I'd like to take advantage of all the scenic routes we've got.
