Subsonic Century a good LDP ??

I have been looking for a new LDP to get my my birthday, and after researching a few, i came across the Subsonic Century....... I have seen it in action and this years B2B charity skate, and it looks like a very good distance board......but i was wondering if there was anyone here who had one, who could tell me a bit more about it !!

For LDP, it's that classic trade-off, a lowered / dropped deck doesn't allow for the same effortless pumps of a topmount LDP.

But I think the Century is an awesome board for pushing distance. Nice shock absorption, very smooth. Had a number of those floating around our last couple distance events here. And Subsonic's work is always top-notch.

It is definitely a matter of riding style.

It is a great board. Has a soft ride with good rebound. One thing to maybe consider is the size of platform, I could see it feeling small for a tall person potentially. Being 5'11 I can't really say for sure though.

I prefer it when I plan to do a lot of pushing and then switch to pumping to maintain my speed and rest. I think it would be perfect as a push race board.

If you're wanting to get into ultra or even just mostly pumping with minimal pushing the reality for lots of people is, if you're pumping most the time the extra height of a top mount is not really that bad for the times when you have to push.

The pump style is also slightly different from a top mount, it can take a moment to understand the swinging/hammock motion of the pump but it will come quickly on the first ride.

I think it can be a good LDP board, but you really have to set it up to your specifications. I have probably tried 20 or so different set-ups on mine. Switching bushings at the front,swapping springs in the Seismics at the rear, messing with my wedging. etc. I really enjoy it as an LDP board now. I can get a nice groove going on it. I definitely pump it a little bit different then I would a traditional LDP deck. Maybe more of a rocking motion to get the board to work with you, but it is still a lot of fun plus you can easily push it if the need occurs. That being said, if I could only have one board, hands down it would be a Pulse.
