Son's New Slalom Board- Lowland 30

Here are some photos of a new board for my soon to be seven years old son.  His birthday isn't for another couple weeks, but I couldn't resist letting him see it and ride it early.  I'd say I'm a pushover, but really it's because it is a blast enjoying doing something together that's not a video game or homework.

He really enjoyed picking out the grip tape and stain pattern, and Scott's workmanship is impressive.  The fade stain looks sick in person.

Hope he can join along for a few miles on Ultraskate Smile

Scotts work is beautiful as usual, looks like a fun setup.

Your boy oughta dig that -- and it'll be something he can teach his buddies about eventually, I'll bet there are few kids his age that are into the way a skateboard can TURN without a kicktail!!    Always love Scott's boards.

At Hood River slalom we have hosted a Junior slalom "race" before the events, usually 20-30 cones at most.

This might be something to try in a parking lot with him some time?!

NICE. The earlier they start, the better they'll be! And that board is a helluva introduction to longboarding! Beautiful.

James, Thanks for the link to the slalom kids video.  That looks really cool.  I did pick up some cones recently and have tried setting them out in the alley/street to the side of our house.  Let's just say it is something we'll have to work towards. Smile

He is very good at pushing at decent speed and seems to have good balance.  He can turn when he wants to, but I suspect he'll be a hill bomber some day.  There is also the issue of him and his brother and sister grabbing, moving, or outright removing the cones.  Here are some action shots, including my wife giving it a go.

Haha Charlie.  I'll let her know Smile   She thinks she looks dorky on the board, but we can all look dorky with LDP.  Hoping to get out for family trail ride when her board comes.  I wonder if anyone had ever fashioned a kid skateboard trailer for the young ones...
