screws?

I've been looking at some of the pictures on the site here and I can't help but notice something. With all the wedging required for LDP, it seems like you'd almost have to curve the screw to prevent it from cutting into the board in some harmful way. Is this the case? Can someone please explain how you get the screw in so that it doesn't damage the board?

I was kinda basing my question on this pic that was posted by LDPanda

If you have a fiberglass top or are seriously concerned about damage, you could use flat nylon washers. Be sure to use pan head or truss head bolts with these, not countersinking. Its always best to tighten the nut, not the bolt. that is, place the screwdriver in the bolt and hold it in place, use a wrench to tighten the nut,  dont turn the screwdriver. Youre right in that with all that wedging bolts will bend, but that happens naturally, you dont have to bend them, just tightening them down and riding them will do it. Be sure not to tighten them down too hard, you dont have to crank it, otherwise you will bust the heads off your bolts.

ok, fair enough. Panda, since this is your board and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be ordering my pulse this coming tuesday, I was wondering something. In a previous post of mine you told me that you had a 7* angle for your front bennett and a 15* angle for your rear tracker but here we see more than that 7*, why's that? Also, if I'm 160 lbs, what kind of wedging and dewedging would you reccomend for me?

8&9. This is tricky, youll probably want to do a fair amount of testing to see what works best for you. I can only tell you what i do, i wedge my front bennet with a soft angled riser (7ish degrees) and 15* wedging rails (the largest in the khiro kit). Thats a total of around 22ish degrees. This makes the truck turn sharper, that is, it takes less force to move the hangar as far, this is important to efficiency. I dewedge my rear tracker with a soft wedge (7*) a hard wedge (7*) a pair of 1* wedging rails (for height, not angle really) anda 1/8" soft riser. This is about a total of 15* of DEwedging.

I wedge my front about 22 degrees (soft wedge and 15 degree rails) and dewedge my rear about 10'ish degrees (soft wedge and hard wedge). I probably over-estimated the angles a bit in my original post above. I cant say this will necessarily work for you, i would look in the 'trucks' forum for more info on wedging angles.

I actually just tried mounting my Tracker to a spare piece of wood I had lying around the house and it was super difficult to get the truck to mount to it. The screws were also at an angle and cut into the wood. ne tips to prevent this from happenening when I mount them to my board?
