schlong for a deck for pumping?I'm tweaking my setup to be an LDP setup, and have been pondering what my next deck selection will be.
Currently, I've got a Gravity 35" Diamondtail, which has a bit of camber and quite a bit of flex.
I'm still pondering how much of a difference flex makes, and I'm observing how much angle everyone is wedging their front Bennetts to and I had an idea:
I've seen people building "schlong" boards on Silverfish - taking a standard shortboard, mounting the trucks on the nose and tail (creating significant wedging on both ends), and cutting away the corners of the nose and tail to give it some wheelwells - the end product looking a bit like a downhill board.
My thought was - I could buy one of these "old school/new school" boards... like a shortboard, but some companies make them over 8" wide and something like 36" long.
What if I didn't modify the shape at all, mounted the truck where it's supposed to go, and mounted the front truck on the nose like a schlong?
With a little dewedigng in the rear (maybe a single Khiro 80D soft wedge) and maybe a standard riser up front (although you'd open the door to getting downright silly with extreme front wedging), you'd have a broad area to put your foot, right over the front trucks, a decent wheelbase...
...AND a kicktail you could use to manual, or ollie onto a curb (one of my personal requirements, as I'd love to LDP around a city and not get hung up on sidewalk curbs at intersections!)
Granted, a board like this would have very little or no flex...
One question is "so what?" Is it a factor?
Any thoughts on that, or on the general concept here?

Here's a board that I'm picturing as a good candidate, for an example:

One other reason I thought this might be good is in cases where you DID want to push, this puts your front foot much closer to the ground, much easier to push.
My Diamondtail, with the Bennett and two Khiro angled risers up front - I think I dislocated my hip, the first time I stepped down to push my skateboard!

I think its a jolly idea but I don't know if it will work or not since I've never tried something like that. But if 2+2=4 then I think you're on to something.

How much does flex factor in? Obviously one of these wouldn't have much - or any.
And that's a sharp contrast to my springy Gravity Diamondtail!
