Riverlake Greenway

Sweet, today I found out the road I live directly on is being turned into a "bike greenway" (read: pumping across the city without having to stop so much or dodge potholes and traffic).

Holy awesome.

looks like a nice fast straight shot, with some 90 degree turns for variety!   will the trail allow you to blast through intersections?   looks like that part of town is a diligently planned grid.

They're working out the details soon, so hard to say,. but they are indeed looking at ways of making it easier for 'bike' traffic to get across the busier roads, This is phase 2 pf the project - they already did it to a few miles of road on the other side of the 35W highway - now this will connect to that, across the pedestrian/bike bridge.

Will be a "bike boulevard" similar to Berkeley's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX8wkI7CwpU

Besides that it goes right past my house, the nice thing is that it'll connect on one side to the Mississippi River path and on the other to the Lake Harriet path - both of which are part of the 50+ miles of 'bike' paths that make up the "Grand Rounds Scenic Byway."

Great news for me, both for recreational boarding and commuting.
