Riding conditions....

So, i went out and did a 4-5 mile ride in the WORST possible conditions that i can imagine.

First off, it was night time and the trail was poorly lit or not at all - I almost went off of it all together because i couldn't see anything, not to mention all the little rocks, cracks, and divots...

Second, there was a head wind, which just made it that much harder.  The ride back was pleasant, but all the other conditions didn't change...

Third, there were parts of the trail that were really really rough, so much so that my leg with the titanium rod in the tibia is actually hurting right now.  There were a bunch of mediocre parts, and some parts that were buttery smooth from being repaved.

And lastly, there were a number of small unavoidable puddles/water run off from sprinklers.  Had a few slides and even lost it on one slight down hill section that i was carving.

All in all, it was about the dumbest ride ever.  Glad I didn't hurt myself.  Still, I had fun and feel great.  Next time, I'll use that head lamp i got and attach it to my helmet.  I think the worst part about the ride was the not being able to see part.  I was just waiting to run over something and go flying off of my board or run off of the trail all together.

I have never ever done something so........reminds me of playing lazer tag in the woods....at night.

Glad you didn't get injured
LD skater since 1971

I use night street skate all the time back in the day but we were slapping curbs and other stuff. We would wind down the night around 10:00 to
12:00 at night we would get a a few 40 ouncers in us.
I would skate back home 1 1/2 miles and I would hit all  little rocks, cracks, and divots and fall all the time. Crack up get up  dust my self off and be on my way.
A couple night ago I was fine tuning my LDP board I kept getting wheel bite wham!! I would hit the road just like the days but no beer in my system.
It hurt but I got back, Kept on skating.

Their is something beautiful about night skating you become more in tuned to what your board is doing. Because you can't see what it is doing
under your feet like you can during the day.
