Om & Walkabout set up with SeismicsHow Do All
After all the chat about using Seismic Stable Stable Turn rear trucks for LDP I thought I would have a little play myself.
I set up my home made Om deck and my Walkabout with the rear Stable Turn trucks 130mm and added only 3* de-wedge to each set up, and I loved it from the moment I pushed off on both boards, they felt so nice and there was no wheel lift in very hard deep turns or any sign of the wheels trying to skitter out when caning it.
I am using the red (light) springs in the rear with very little pre-load on the springs.
the only downside of the 3* De-wedge was a loss in forward / straight line speed as this set up gives a very carvy / srf feel to the boards, I have to admit though that I really liked this carvy set up and would use it again no problems, in fact the carvy set up still feels more stable than a 10* de-wedgeed RTS set up.
I have now set both boards up with a 10* rear de-wedge simply to give a better staight line speed, thought the weather hass been too crap here to try them out properly with this set up.
I loved the seismic trucks so much that I bought a bunch of them and extra springs from Dan to save me having to swap and change them from deck to deck.
Something I did notice is that you can use much less de-wedging with the Seismic and still have a very stable feeling board even at speed; yet at the same time having a very carvy set up.
I have also got a front Quick Turn truck and put Bone white springs in and put it on my Om set up to try out, I have not had chance to try it yet but from the feel of it and lack of range of movement compared to the Benett I think it will not be as an efficient pumper, but I am going to give it my best shot. I do like the look of it too. very aggresive looking.
Here are a couple of pictures and the direct link to the albums where all the pics are.
Let me know what you think.
Enjoy.

The Om looks like the Terminator
Very cool. How much do you weigh?

I was also considering a seismic 45 deg. with white springs for my front truck. I'd be curious to see if you had any success with it.
It seems like that wedging the front would decrease the amount of leverage you could put on the springs, thus cancelling out any advantage gained from the wedging. have you found that the case??? I also plan on trying it with no springs to see how that feels...

I would stick with the bennett for an efficient pumper, as the wedging has a negative effect on the ease with which the truck turns as you point out, I am sure it would be fun without the springs for about 5 minutes.
I am only trying the Quick turn out on this deck for fun and I will be putting the original Bennett back on when I need it. I just liked the look of the Seismic on the front of this board.

Yeah, seismic quick turn for the front is really fun for a carver. as a pumper though, it doesn't have the range of motion, and it doesn't flow easily enough.
You can pump it, just not very efficiently. don't expect to be doing very much LDP with that. It's a great truck for carving and downhill speed (very stable while still being turny), just not an LDP truck.
