ettsexett trucks

Hi!
Longtime lurker here, been stalking this forum for well over a year, although i havent made any long treks yet I often do 10+ mile  commutes during the summer.

Like the subject says, my interest is in the ettsexett trucks, myself being a Swede, I think I should be supportive of them when they make a good looking truck like that Wink

So my question is really if this (slalom) truck is a viable alternative for LDP.

I know there is the Virage LDP thats been tested (and proven?) on this forum. Virage is actually a bit cheaper than the ettsexett trucks.

Pro's and con's as I see them:
Both are ~122mm width
Both have speherical bearings (ettsexett have it both in the hanger and kingpin, does the Virage have that?)
Precision CNC
Both have pumpable angles out of the box.

Pro:
They are Swedish! (or Swiddish as some say)
Race Yellow!

Cons:
Have a custom kingpin (Virages is easily replaceable)
Untested as LDP trucks

Worth mentioning is that I have a GBomb Illuminati so changing the angles if needed is easy enough(I might have to dewedge the front a bit since I have the pre-bent front, or buy another thick GBomb bracket!).

Soooo, are they worth the measly asking price of 350€ ? Smile

EDIT: Oooops forgot the link!

While I'm sure they would be great pumping trucks, I would have a few concerns. First, the 122mm width you mention is the longest the 161 can handle, that is, its spaced out all the way. That puts extra stress on the axles. At its narrowest, the 161 is 98mm, which is fairly narrow for LDP. Second, the spherical at the pivot point (which virage does not have) makes the truck ride pretty harshly. A pivot cup absorbs a lot of road vibration that a spherical doesn't. Also, the kingpin screws in and so it may need frequent adjustment (like a radikal does).

I think its awesome you want to support your local company and its possible it might work out fine for you, but my suggestion would be to try something else. You could go for a Bennett front and Virage LDP rear for half the price of a set of 161s.
