BRIBABRI! A Skate Further EventJust so y'all know:
Skate Further's Nat (wafflesole) is leaving our shores here in the UK to make a life with his family in New Zealand. In order to give the chap a proper send off, we're going to skate from Bristol to Bath and back to Bristol again this coming Saturday. It's going to be an emotional day for many of us, who prize Nat as a jewel in the British distance skating crown, but we know he'll spread the Skate Further word down under. All are welcome!!! That's awesome. Nat's had some really huge changes with skating, marriage, a newborn, and now a huge move. Reminds me of all the excitement, a lot of unknowns and the unsettling feeling of having a family and finding a new job, etc. when I was going to and returning from Japan 15 years back. (especially coming back "home"!) You just dive in and eat it up, it's a very exciting time and something I always recommend to people flip flopping about leaving their country versus settling into their "serious" career... you're young, now's the time -- just do it!
