Newbie needs help!Hello! I have been inspired to start skateboarding and I have never owned a skateboard before. I want to do longboarding and I am very interested in LDP. It appears that there are so many options out there that it could make my head hurt just trying to figure out how to get started.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent all-around board that I could use for experimenting with LDP (and not get too frustrated) but also use for commuting, carving, cruising and playing around on? Something that sells as a complete kit, or specific recommendations for parts that would make it easy for me to get started would be greatly appreciated. My weight is 150lb for whatever that is worth...
I am assuming as I get experience I would want different boards for different purposes, but at this point I don't think I want something too specialized. I have heard that the Loaded Dervish and Pintail are good all-around boards. How are they for LDP with the stock components? Other thoughts and suggestions? Thanks!

I am right in the middle of trying to find an all around board. I know I'm new but IMO you can't beat RoeRacing for a true LDP. I have been using the Cross Step now for a bit, and I love it. I'm pumping up things I never thought possible. Jame's Gear page is really good in terns of getting you up to speed as for trucks, wegding, bushings etc. It seems strange at first but take some time reading it over and over - it's truly spot on.
As for the Dervish I put Randal 150's on it and you can pump with it but it's alot of work and to be frank with you - you might have some problems with it down the road. (It's just not a true pumper). But it's light, fast and alot of fun there is no question about that.
