Mermaid Pr0n

From the lunch skate today. A rest on a shady bridge...

camel, I enjoyed your photos. Nice Mermaid and beautiful trails. I'm jealous.

Hope you don't mind but I snooped through all your photos and came across a couple surprises...

First, do you build the skateboard racks for Stoked? I've been considering buying one. I especially liked your wall leaning rack. How can I get some more info on it?

Second, are you an ALMS fan? Did you go to Petit this year? Wild race. I'm preparing for my annual pilgrimage to Laguna Seca next weekend and can hardly sit still...

Thanks for posting those.

Thanks for the compliments.

Yes, I build the racks for Stoked. David has become a buddy of mine. Great guy, heck of a businessman. I can do just about any rack that you can think up. Those are the 2 basic designs. They are solid and work well for a reasonable price.

They started as an idea here: http://www.silverfishlongboarding...erested-custom-racks-storage.html

Lots of info in that thread.

Love ALMS. I photographed for ADVAN/Yokohama Motorsports last year at Petit. I did not make it this year due to an addition I was having done to my wife....hehe I was out at a DE at Road Atlanta a couple of weekends ago. 135mph down the back straight is intense to say the least.

Thanks. I'll check it out.

Now that must be cool to drive on a real track. What did they have you in? Panoz? (what's the plural of Panoz...Panoi???) I've driven the shorter track at Willow Springs out here in CA but the straight is too short to make it to any serious speed unless you've got major HP.

It was a BMW event, yet I was in a 911 and a 350z. Smile Very much faster than any of the BMW's out there.
aschmidt

No doubt. It will be interesting to see how BMW does in the ALMS next year. GT2 should be a hoot!

I just can't tel you how much I love the leader light system on the cars. That is sooooo coool for racing fans.
aschmidt

Just root for Porsche, Penske or the Flying Lizards and you won't need the leader lights Very Happy

Shhhhh. I like the Audi... That thing is siiiiiiiiiiick! And quiet as a mouse.
aschmidt

They do sound like something from another world as they wooosh by. I think one of the best things Audi has going for itself is Alan McNish. He's an amazing driver and proves it over and over.

Those racks are sweet!   You wouldn't believe how crazy my garage looks, I've been using PVC + 2x4 surfboard racks I got off ebay, and I stack about 5 boards on each rack so it's completely overweighted and will probably implode on itself someday  :-p

I might want one of these for a smaller set of my "main" boards I would keep in the house.   Cool stuff.

camel

Thanks JP. Let me know if you need a couple. It takes a couple of days to get them ready to ship from raw materials (setup, cut, assemble, sand, breakdown, pack, etc...). They work pretty well for the folks that have them already. I think I have sold about 30 so far in the last few months.
edp_swakakin

Camel those racks look SWEET!!!   And your choice of decks in the background are killer.....
camel

Thanks man, everybody has been happy with them so far. And I have been happy with the deck selection as well.

My Mermaid Pron

This is my new board. When shooting it, it felt like a pr0n0 shoot.

The Grip Tape Job

All Mounted Up

Front Truck

Rear Truck

I set it up with a Bennet 5.0 (wedged 15*), and a Seismic 130mm 30*(dewedged 10*). I'm rolling It on 76mm Monster Hawgs, mounted with Bitlins.

I can't wait for the spring thaw, to bust this thing out on the trails. Try the difference of the 5.0 bennett to the 6.0 bennett.
