marymor open lot

the lot next to the veledrome at marymoor park in redmond- i swear to god that place in amazing. it's a 160mx160m (ish) asphalt slab with absolutely nothing on it. NOTHING. not even a pebble. you can skate it with your eyes closed. you have the whole place all to yourself and you can ride out there well past dark.
it's a perfect place to learn board walking and sliding and riding backwards and everything.

that place rules... i want to bring a trainer kite out there  (3m)  whenever the weather improves a touch.

when you guys ride at the velodrome, do you ride on a slanted surface or is there an inner measured line that you go around? I just checked out the drome in indy recently and it wasn't all that amazing for riding. not as good as our local trail anyway. the slant for the bikes was not even close to flat enough to ride comfortably.

we ride what they call the "apron", a maybe 5-6 foot wide strip of totally flat asphalt that makes up the inner circle.    the banks are also seriously steep on the redmond velodrome-- fun for goofing around on but we don't reach nearly enough speed to actually use the banks like the cyclists.
