Loaded Pintail for pumping

Hey there guys, was just wondering if a Loaded Pintail would be good for pumping? I live all the way in australia so i dont have access to all the LDP specific boards you all have in the states (man you guys are are so lucky ), shipping one over would cost me a fortune so thats out of the question =(.

So yeah Loaded Pintail, ive heard its a good alternative for a LDP board, not for crazy 10 mile rides just a few miles at a time. Im roughly 6 ft and i weigh 70 kgs which is like i dunno 165 pounds or something and i ride a flexdex grenade =D.

If theres other boards i can take into consideration for pumping please tell me as well.

Thanks a bunch guys.

gravity 45" spoon nose

g&s fibreflex 44" kicktail

both should be pretty readily available in Oz, and work pretty well as pumpers.

what about local builders?

I'd check out your local shop and look for boards with wheelbases in the 26"--30" range, bring a tape measure and check for yourself  (usually the help doesn't really know this stuff offhand.)

That Fibreflex really is one of the better responsive boards for the money.   Sometimes if you find a longer board with the right shape and just too short a wheelbase, you can always consider drilling a longer WB and reshaping a little to make it work.

You are talking to the right guy, here.   I have a Pintail Flex 2 and have logged many miles on it.

Ultimately the problem with the Pintail is that there is not enough front foot real estate to make it a viable option for long distances.   Your foot will inevitably drift forward to the point where it is hanging over the sides, and this is simply uncomfortable over the miles.

I found the most pleasurable set up using the Carver Cx.   The Cx front axle is quite a bit further back than using a Bennet.   This, in turn, moves your front foot position further back to where there is more width.   It's a good match.

If you enjoy pumping in more of a surf stance with your front foot further back, you can make this board work for you.   Yet I've found that that position is not efficient for the long haul, or for Cyber Mile type efforts.   That said, you can definitely get some sweet, surfey carves in the foot rearward position, that are very satisfying.

I think it is still a sweet board for pumping and carving for shorter distances, in a setting where top speed is not a concern.   I personally love the Loaded flex, hype be damned.   If it had more real estate for the front foot, and a little more WB it could be a sweet board.   I still would love to try a Loaded LDP board.

If you really want to pump without limitations over the miles, though, it is too expensive of a board for me to recommend given its limitations.   Either spend a little more cash and get a true LDP, or spend a less and get one of the mass produced decks noted above that will probably work better.

Thanks alot for the feedback guys, i better check all the aussie skateshops and see what theyve got. Armed with the info you guys have given me i think i can make a more informed decision about what board ill get.

But i do wish loaded would make a LDP board, i reckon theyd make good money from it too.

Now i just need to find someplace nice in sydney to pump and ill be set.

Thanks again guys. =)
