LDP to WorkWell, after the first week back to work--I teach ESL at Roosevelt HS in San Antonio--I have to say, I am certainly on the "cool" list with my students. It turns out that there are many longboarders at the high school. The first day, I had a heavy backpack with me, so I took my 55" Ed Eco with me. You should have seen the look on my kids' faces when I walked into the class with that monster. The rest of the week, I had my Mermaid with me. I turned LDP into a lesson on the spot on Thursday. It was a fun way for me to assess my student's English Language ability by having them describe my movements, the boards movements, and whether pumping was more efficient than pushing. It was so amazing how LDP brought 12 cultures and languages together for a day. I already have kids asking how to set up boards so that they, too, can surf the flats.

Were you able to translate "busting a kingpin really sucks" into all 12 languages? Just kidding. Congrats on crossing the barriers with the students. Powerful stuff.
