Just getting startedI started skating when I was less than 5. I always loved cruising, back when that was all there was to do (other than the daffy and hanging 5 or 10). Had an E&H Wallboard cambered slalom board with green Kryptonics in the early 80s. Became a skate punk in the late 80s (with skater flop haircut to match). Started riding concrete in the 90s concrete re-evolution. Wrecks became more and more debilitating, and the skater community became more and more fractured and fashionable. Finally getting back to my roots with soft fat wheels and a cambered board -- all thanks to my friend and coworker who commutes by longboard and has done some nice long distance (and who told me about this forum). Thanks JT!
Today I finally rode all the way to work, one way, 9.5 miles in 55 minutes. Did some great pumping for parts of it. Did some lousy pumping for other parts. I think I have fallen in love all over again. Looking forward to working my way up to riding both to and from work and not feeling like my ankles are broken.
Hello and good evening to you all -- pump on, skate on, roll on! It's the simple joy of rolling that makes it all so fun. Here's to fun!
