Independant TrucksHi,
It's christmas and the best kind of present arrived this morning, a Roe Mermaid
Problem it's Christmas and I don't have any LDP trucks, boo
So I have a khiro riser kit, various bushings (mainly bones hardcores and the rot that comes out of indy trucks), khiro soft angled risers, bolts, and wheels a plenty.
However when it comes to trucks all I have are the following which can be salvaged.
Paris 180's (no good i'm sure)
Independent 139s
Independant 169s
I also have some 149s but really begrudge taking my park board appart
I was thinking about using a 169 as a stable rear truck and a 139 on the front. Indys are supposed to be derived from Bennets, so I hope I can cobble something to gether to keep a little stoke till the postman is back at work.
Can someone recommend something I was thinking about Indy 139 with Bones hardcore soft in the front. 169 in the rear with Khiro blue and Bones medium. Will this work ?

I think 139's front and rear would be the best you could come up with out of those options (but what do I know?).
How long before the 'proper trucks' come?

I agree on the 139+139 setup.
The thing about the Indy derived from Bennetts is true, but it applies to the type of Indy that's used as a front truck in slalom, they're quite a different architecture (very much like Bennett) but much different than their "street" type Indy.
Just go real loose on front, nice and snug on the back, to keep you tied over for your trucks on the way!

I have set it up with the 139s well 139 hangers anyway as I didn't realise the Mermaid is drilled old school so I had to use the hangers from some Lush 150s which are based on Indys.
10 degrees de-wedge + Khiro angle shock pad in the back using a red and yellow Doh Doh. (Had these lying in a draw unloved, will probably swap for Bones hardcores).
15 degrees wedge + Khiro angle shock pad in the front with Bones Hardcore softs. Really like these bushings but I'm not convinced they are soft enough but will do for the time being.
Wheel wise I'm using 75mm orange Orangatangs, these are sweet wheels with superb rebound and they roll for ages.
I managed to dodge the rain and go for a quick beer run to test the board, however I didn't get far as I encountered monster wheel bite. The Indy turns quite well for a street truck but I guess its quite low hence the bite. Going to add another riser or two tomorrow until it disappears but I think I will be disappointed until my trucks turn up.
Truck wise I'm going for Seismics 150, quick turn with bone white for the front and 30 degree 150 with green for the rear. I really love Seismic stuff the wheels are superb but after researching I think I will end up buying a Bennett 5.0 to use as a front. When they will turn up is another story I ordered from Apollo 11 in the UK they can be a little slow sometimes.
Hopefully the rain will stay away so I can dial that front truck tomorrow
Thanks for the help,
Nic
