how close to wheelbite do you get when pumping?

OK, probably not the best subject line but it's early and my brain isn't quite in 2nd gear yet...

Since I slammed hard a while ago (fractured wrist and bursitis on my left elbow) i've been uber cautious when it comes to wheelbite.  Adding more riser has obviously fixed the problem (albiet adding more instability when footbraking), but i'm still half-scared that when pumping hard (especially uphill) i'm gonna wheelbite again.

So, when you guys are pumping hard, how much side-to-side dive are you getting from your front truck?  ie  how close to wheelbite do you get each pump?  Millimeters away from bite or still plenty of room?

I'm wondering whether I should be running more angle on the front (currently 2 soft khiro wedges and 1/4" of flat, so around 14d) so that the Bennett doesn't have to tip as far each pump to get the same amount of turn?

I run my setup as close to wheelbite as possible. I basically loosen it until i get wheel bite and then tighten a quarter turn or so each time i get bite until it doesnt happen anymore. that being said, ive taken a few spills becuase of bite. I would be cautious about using flat risers in the front, most people prefer to keep their setup as low as possible. Maybe try using stiffer bushings if youre running into this problem, two soft wedges should be plenty of height to avoid wheel bite.

I run my Subsonic century as close to wheelbite as is possible. There are marks on the deck where the wheels have bitten but it hasnt killed me yet.....

When I get it too low I cant seem to get the leverage I like.  I run a quarter inch khiro shockpad, angled shockpad, and a 15 degree wedge on the front.  That extra quarter inch makes a difference, if only in my mind.  Wheelbite is no fun, too.

Too close

dumped the other day carving a steep downhill.  I tend to carry a wrench in case the front truck nut loosens up or bushing shrinks.  I tighten just too the point where the front truck has a tiny return to center.

not terribly close. I don't want to get that close to wheelbite when pumping because I don't feel like falling at those speeds if I can prevent it. I do get close to wheelbite when making a tight U turn though.
