GALAC ImpressionsJust recently i had the chance to test my Galac and it was quite surprised how great this board is.
I never thought that is going to be this great but where i ride it is windy quite often, going upwind is not easy as you may know but with this board was far effortless than with my Mermaid or Pulse. I have my Pulse with very same setup and same wheelbase. Nevertheless I love all my three boards and each one offer better things than the others.
The board is well made, lighter than the Mermaid but heavier than Pulse. Very nice shape, wide where should be and a beautiful top job. I would like to see a glossier finish on the bottom side though.
I have it with Split up front (20 degrees) and Airflow back (10 degrees) and at its maximum wheelbase.

One thing I'm curious is how the wheelbase of your Galac compares to the Pulse and Mermaid. When I looked into the Galac it struck me as weird that the WB was in the 25' range, which seemed a little short for LDP. I'm wondering if that may be helping you to pump into the wind, acting like a smaller gear.
Also, how is the flex compared to the other two?
I've heard nothing but good things about the Galac

See below both boards. They are with 27"7/8 wheelbase.
The Galac is 37" long while the Pulse is 40".
Both boards are fantastic and were made together with the Mermaid for my weight (180lb) = stiff. I think Galac deliver better because of its flex - sort of powerful but smooth.
I went to check my records (GPS Garmin 350) and again to my surprise with Galac, it is faster than the other two. However i have not done LDP for a while so i need more time to confirm this.
It is weird because initially i was not that impressed with my Galac - you see no carbon fiber or fancy epoxies but after riding it - it is a different story.
I use my Mermaid for experiments, trucks, wheels, set ups, etc. It is also an amazing board. I'm still testing it using Seismic on the back.

Just wondering what's with the bushing on the top? I've seen that alot but have never read what it's for.

Its called a toe stop (or a foot stop if its something bigger than a bushing). Theyre pretty common in slalom and LDP. It prevents the front foot from sliding forward on the deck (and sometimes off the deck). It can also be used to mark a favorite position for the front foot.

It also helps to propel you immediately into the ground during a wheelbite incident  however, I still use one  .
These 'Galacs' must be keepers, I NEVER see them up for re-sale...
