First build -Bennett 4.3s?So I got a real good deal on a pair of Bennetts 4.3s. Would it be a waste of time putting one on the back also? Or should I just buy the Tracker RTS before I set it up? This is my first LDP build, hell I haven't even rod a LDP setup yet...Got a extra deck and wedge pads I'm going to use initailly.
Thanks,
Ryan

a Bennett on the rear will make the back turn insanely...great for tight inner-city maneuvering, but lousy for stability at speed and for LDP.
you ideally want something in the back that doesn't turn much at all.

stock bushings? Will the stock Red bushing be alright on the Bennetts?

no, not really. Maybe if you were resorting to using it as a rear before you got an RT-s, thats the only situation i can see using the stock bushings. what you want for a front truck is MUCH softer. I would suggest picking up 1 pack of khiro whites and 1 pack of khiro oranges and trying a few different setups. Theres lots of good bushing ideas on the gear page and on the forum, but heres a great pic that should give you some ideas too:

So put in 3 bushings instead of the stock 2? Will the stock kingpin be long enough?

Are these the right ones?

Yes, those are the correct kind, khiro barrel sets (with 1 cone and 1 barell).
If you look closely at the stock bushings, youll see the bottom bushing is larger than the top. Bennets have a non-standard geometry to them that makes them work very well for pumping but requires a lil creativity when it comes to bushings. Yes, the kingpin is long enough to hold three bushings (although you might have to push down pretty hard). Start out by trying some of the diagrams and see what works for you.

Because of your discussion, I just hacked that picture a little, making the bottom cone flatter and fatter -- to better simulate the reality Panda's mentioning. You can't get both the cone and barrel inside that bottom bennett bushing area without deforming it a bit, and usually the bottom cone flattens out even more over ride time. Though it seems a little "imperfect" in that it doesn't fit just right out of the box, it's still one of the most reboundy combos I've found.

Thanks for the help guys.
I ordered the Khiro bushing and rail kits and the Tracker RST, so I should have something going this weekend.
I'm pretty stoked about trying this...

The bushing kit and wedge kit will give you a ton of options, it can be a bit overwhelming at first so be sure to look around and see what others are doing too. Just for reference, im about 200lbs and use blue cone, white barell bottom with an orange barell top (if i was using all khiro at the moment). In an RT-S i would start out using yellow bottom with red top. As for wedging, i wedge my 4.3 pretty agressivly, between 17 and 22 degrees. I dewedge an rts so that the kingpin runs perpendicular to the deck or just 1 or 2 degrees less. But basically youll have more choices than you know what to do with and plenty of experimenting to do, good luck!

Well I got the everything except the bushings, so I tired it with stock reds. It pumps ok, better than anything else I've every rode. Just can't wait to see how much differance the bushings makes.

Well I finally got my bushings...its bad ass! I can believe how easy it pumps.
