EXKATE 101 TORSION TRUCKSHas anyone tried to set these up for pumping? Tron had some at the Ultra on a longboard and they were very different. I do remember them being snappy.
From Website
"Our exclusive patented truck design performs like no other, drastically reducing high speed wobble while delivering an unprecedented six foot turning radius. It features an alloy steel cast-in-place axle and an internal aircraft aluminum cam to eliminate "wheel bite." Exkate Torsion trucks use a totally different steering concept, whereby the bushing is twisted rather than compressed to provide the 'return to center'. All our trucks feature a LIFETIME GUARANTEE!"
hmmmm - I think I will buy a pair.

Shortly after I read your thread I looked at the gear page, but it didn't offer much more info than you had: tight turning, nice return to center.
I also remember them being mentioned on the Loaded site for the Vanguard, although I think it was the 201.
After you've had a chance to test them out yourself, please report back with your findings.

Ok - I'm not packed yet for the Ultra but I had to come home and try these out.....Freaking 8:00 PM Arrrrrrr I had to know for myself..
First off I'm not too hot about the mounting design. It uses it's own bolts.
The truck is nice riding and carves like a dream but for true pumping. It's missing something. I'm so much in a hurry right now I'm not sure what it was. I just know it wasn't what it should be - for me. It felt like the turn was too perfect and too wide. If that makes any sence. But for a non pumper it would be sweet. It looks killer too.....
Anyways I need to pack for the race......It's on like Donkey Kong

my take on 'em is they're nice carving trucks. they do return smoothly to center, although they don't exactly "snap" back the way you can dial other trucks, which is probably the feel you're missing. and if you like to tweak, it's a bit limiting because there's no top+bottom bushing to play around with. just change a full bushing. the only way I've ridden them is front and back with the same durometer, so really set up like a carver.
I didn't elaborate much on the gear page because i couldn't get too excited over them for pumping. also, i broke a couple kingpins along the way, as well. demetri, one of the guys at the last Ultraskate, had them on his dancer, and he likes them for generally cruising around.
see you soon Eric!!
