does board with in relation to trucks make a difference? My first LDP is a GALAC gtcldp and i'm still working on my ideal setup.
Aside from bushing and wedging decisions, I've been thinking about whether or not this is the deck for me.
I'm riding a bennett 4.3 and a 109 rts and will most likely continue to because of the inclines around my area. I find that lower speeds, and often into the upper end of my relatively of my high speeds that the board will tip onto two wheels.
From lip to lip, my wheels and trucks measure 8 1/4." my board is 10 1/8" inches wide.
I am curious to hear if anyone else has had similar experiences. I'm considering buying a roe mermaid or a pulse V1 mainly jsut to try something different, but also to see if their 9 3/4" width will make a difference in the feel of the board.

I think the tipping is because of the narrow trucks, not the deck. I tried it with the 4.3's too and was not happy. The Galac is pretty nice deck. Shape and width wise, I like it the best of the LDP boards. (I have not tried the LL Walkabout).
I first set up the Galac with Bennett 5.0 and Tracker 139 and loved it. I'm always switching stuff around and forgot the inital setup details I had and the board never felt quite right again. I recently put Virage LDP trucks on it spaced out a bit wider and I am all about this board again. But I digress.
Try wider trucks. I never tried 6.0 on the Galac because of the wheelbase. You might try a Bennett 5.0 with Seismic 130mm or Tracker rear. Then, experiment experiment experiment. Bushings, wedge angles, different wheels. You will be surprised how subtle changes affect the enjoyment of the ride after a few miles. Find what works and write it down so you don't forget! Then come back and share.
