CNC Bennett baseplate

Someone on the Silverfish Longboarding site is wondering what kind of interest there would be in a CNC Bennett plate. Here is the link:

Great idea in concept, but at $130-150, you could buy a precision truck.

Bennett is a great truck for the money.   If I were to spend that kind of cash on a truck, I'd get something with a spherical.

If someone was extra handy and wanted to do bennett mods, i would prefer a ball pivot and spherical in the hangar. I think you could sell it for about $60 and it would be more precise and deeper turning while still being usable on any baseplate without any special mods. You could upgrade the pin to a grade 8 with minimal threading and probably get buyers at $75 per truck.

I think Karrot does something like that, not sure what he charges for them.

update: They will go for about $43 and will bring out a 15 degree plate first, with 20* and 10* to follow. http://www.silverfishlongboarding...base-plates-2.html#post1297799264

I'm quite excited about these, as soon as I get confirmation that there's a hex on the bottom for KP capture, I'm in.

It's actually the angle of a Bennett wedged 5 degrees.  Attractive price, though.

So, its 5 degrees of wedging and easier to change KP? Any other features? I guess i dont really understand.

It's actually the 20* or 25* that I'm interested in, that's +10 or +15 built in wedge when compared to the stocker.  The bigger issue is the KP capture though.  I really like an inverted KP with a shoulder that extends into the BP but the whole JB Weld business is a pain.  Combine this BP with a spherical modified hanger and I'm set, until those Virages make it out anyway.

then just a khiro soft wedge.  Nice.

So the default wedging for a stock bennett is 10 degrees? So when I put a 15 degree wedge under my stock bennett it is really wedged 25 degrees?

Stock kingpin angle is 10*, but you're getting the basic idea.
SoloRider

Nearly done.

Still gotta go pick up a 3.5" KP so I can run inverted w/ the full sholder but you get the general idea.
