Bennett 6.0 or Carver CX 6.5?While waiting for a Pulse, I need to use this time on deciding on trucks. I really don't want narrowest track possible, and I am willing to take a hit on some efficiency to preserve the soul and feeling of meaningful surfy pumps. I also prefer the higher gear and do not have to confront hills in my rides.
Has anyone tried both setups on the pulse? Any other sugesstions? Does the rear truck have to always be more narrow than the front?
thanks

I don't have any experience with the Carvers, but I was running a Bennett 5.0 for the longest time on my Pulse, but recently got a 6.0 hanger and I'm in love with that deck again. I'd considered selling it up until then. If you go with a 6.0, use the front mounting holes or else you won't get any benefit from the wheel wells.
I've been running both 155mm and 130mm rear hangers, both with good results. I wouldn't go any wider than 155.
On a side note: I've been skating on Clearwater Beach lately and I really like the neighborhoods on the north side. Since there are no thru streets there is almost no traffic if you stay off Mandalay. The asphalt has numerous cracks, but is relatively smooth. Stay away from Sand Key park!

So you think a sesmic 150mm rear with te medium springs?
I thought about N. Clearwater but traffic seems knd of hellsh. How long can you go north from there? Have you skated to Honeymoon Island? I heard there is a charge of like $10.
The pulse I ordered s gonna look a lttle different. Gonna have asymmetrcal elments on nose and tail for style. But I will use the front holes for sure regardless.

It took me a while to get used to the Seismic rear truck. I only recently got the wider hanger to mate up with the wider 6.0 front truck. The 130 works just fine. I've found that with a wider truck I can always flip my offset wheels or just use a centerset wheel for a narrower track. As far as springs go, I weigh 150 and I started out with the super-light springs, then went up to the extra-light. I'm now using the light (red) ones and with stiffening up the tension I feel that I'm probably not going to try medium any time soon.
You're welcome to try my boards to compare the 130 vs. 155. I also have a Tracker RT-S.
The traffic on the beach is on the main drag. From the north beach I did a big loop counter-clockwise, then reversed direction and it took me over an hour, so there are plenty of roads to loop around. The pavement ends at Carousel. I haven't been out to Honeymoon Island in some time. Phillipe Park has terrible asphalt like Sand Key.
