hey rodrigo, far as gurus go, you pumped nearly 100 miles in that last 24-hour ride, so we gotta hear your impressions of these babies!!

personally i like when the concept of 'whats old is new' is proven, and i'd venture that the reissue tarantulas are proving that point?

one thing I always like trying to test with new wheels is jamming hard on the rear of the board and forcing them to slide and drift, getting a sense for their break-free and hook-up feel. the other is to get into a faster, lighter pump and see how much they "bounce." and of course carving some hills you'll get a pretty quick sense of their overall grip. let us know!

ok i got them and quickly set them up on my replacement pumper ( as my other pumping deck has been sold and am waiting patiently for my next galac deck)

first impression was that they feel like they are a bit harder than they appear, as in they dont loose too much momentum at all, they also elminate alot fo the road and make the ride smooth as water. then i took them out to a very smooth road to see if they would grip, and they didnt dissapoint there either. gripped way better and felt alot better than my lime and lemon zigs. felt better than my red zigs too. next test was some hills.

i felt that i was able to pump higher and farther than with zigs and it gave me a weird but very nice rebound that i havent felt before really, maybe the urathane is reflex? i dunno really. its was cool. still nice smooth ride and didnt slip out or slide out when i pushed them waaaaaaay hard on concrete.

on to the beach was the next test.

ok here it was a different story, the wheels grip nicely on the smooth concrete but after eating hard concrete for teh 5th time pumping hard on them i have to label these with the " not for sandy areas" curse. same as ther softer avilas as in they will slide out unexpectedly if some soft sand gets under them, not as bad as the white 3dms but still a weird but exciting ride. nice quick pumps work better for the sand if you use these wheels. ill take them again to the boardwalk to test though, wouldnt want to label a wheel as bad for beach without more testing.

overall for the cheaper price than zigs i would get these in an instant. they look cool as hell and perform incredibly well.

hope this helps people in their choice for Zig alternatives.

I got the Tarantula STRs.

Swirly black on red...matches my Galac & Vans (!!) perfectly.
I haven't had the chance to ride it, but i will write something after i tried it.
...too bad i can't take pictures of my board due to something special attached to my galac lol.

They're pretty nice, nothing too special.
78a, soft, but quite fast for their duro.
absorbs bumpiness on the road better than most of my wheels, except 76mm superballs.

it won't really drift, but they're still new..so i can't really tell for now.
