Another What Trucks thread

Hi,

Sorry I know this has been done before but I'm trying to gather info on the best trucks to go for on my setup (Roe Mermaid).

I originally was going to go for full Seismic 155 setup 30 degree rear with green springs and 45 degree front with white.  However from reading on the forums and James site I feel that a Bennett is going to perform better.

So I think I will place an order for a Bennett 5.0 with the Blue, White, Orange khiro setup.

I have a few questions which I hope you can answer for me.

Are Seismic baseplates only drilled new school?

Do I need to fit a longer kingpin to the bennett to accommodate the triple bushings, and if so which is best Khiro for a Randal?

Octane sell the Skennett, I guess this is a modified 4.3, if I went down this route I guess I will have less top end but it will be better for hills?

Thanks in advance,

Nic

I believe that Seismic trucks are drilled for both new and old fixing hole patterns.

Bennetts bottom bushings are a Khiro barrel and a half tall so cut down a Khiro with a sharp knife to the correct height and stack them or fit two Khiro top bushings in place of the bottom. Any longer kingpin on a Bennett and it's in danger of hitting the ground.

The Skennett is indeed a cutdown 4.3, it should in theory be a better truck for hillclimbing from what I've read on here. Whether it is any great improvement over an off the peg 4.3 with bushing tweakage I don't know but at £45 compared to £18 I think I know which way I'd go. Wink

Thanks,

I main reason I was thinking about the Skennett was I cant find anywhere in the UK selling a single Bennett.

Thanks for the info.

Call Apollo11 and speak to Kev, he'll do you  a single truck.

He did me a non-pair of Bennett 5.0 and a Tracker RT-S
