Adding flex and functionality

There was once a little board company called Firnspiegel...

This is actually a huge story.   So I'll cut to the chase:  Firnspiegel is no more, but they had this one board I wanted to get a hold of and test out for ages.   Since that is never going to happen, now I'm thinking about trying this out on a stiff board I've got in the garage -- it's a bit too stiff to be practical as an LDP, but I think this modification would add the flex and character I'm looking for.

Basically, the concept was to make a long incision right up the center of the board, and allow both sides to flex independent of each other, when carving through a turn.   On a downhill carve, the inside, or uphill side would be closer to the ground, then after transitioning, this would be reversed.   What seems to hold the two sides together at the rear end of the board is actually the trucks!

Not sure whether I want to chop into my board, but I'm dying to try it out...
