A new LDP to the market ???something ive been prototyping for awhile still working out flex's and other details
but thought you ldp'ers might be interested, on the first proto i logged a crap load of KM, this is the latest revision for what improvements i wanted.

What are the proto-type specs? Can one get and help test a proto-type?

Current Dimensions are 100cm (39.25") by 24.5cm (9.5") bit thinner than most ldp's but i was trying to build within a 10" blank width to keep costs down.
and it has a 70cm 73.25cm and 76.5cm (27.5" 28.75" 30") wheelbase, coupled to a nice concave and a bit of camber for preloading.
as for anyone being able to get their hands on a proto that would be more or less a yes, as this deck will get some refinements and tweaks over time but only feedback from riders and myself will show where those tweaks will be needed.
im also probably gonna include a toestop as well but made out of the scraps left over after the deck is cut, but as for position and how im gonna do that still i have no idea, as everyone is differnt.
Ideally i would like to get some people with previous LDP experience as they will be able to help refine and tweak the design, as new LDP'ers such as myself, can only offer so much input until we get alot more time under our feets to know even more specifically what we want.

seems fun.
interested to be a tester, but i guess you won't really need too many ppl lol

send me a message if you need a tester in SD ^_^.
what heppend to the mirror finish like your dancers?

I would love to test a deck for you. I live in Chicago. Let me know

what happened to the mirror finish like your dancers? |
not everyone has the cash or need for a high end finish so thats why i have my economy finishes vs my high end finishes.
and there is alot of difference in the amount of time and materials needed in between the two, so its either make it affordable for everyone, or go the high end route, or i guess trying to do them on every board but then i would be undercutting myself and i would burn out very quickly
edit: oh and for testers i onyl need a couple, but typically with my test boards i get the riders to pay for materials and shipping, as i run on very tight budget, but being that ldp is a niche within a niche and to just get out there all i would want is the rider to pay for shipping

I am willing to do materials and shipping. I am just excited about the prospect of assisting in refinement of such a beautiful board. The more companies that enter our niche within a niche, the more exposure it brings our discipline as a whole. And anything I can do to help that happen I will. Maybe even send out a tester than have it returned after testing for analysis.

Beauty deck, great shape and design!! Wish I'd have checked this earlier, I just skated through BC last weekend!
If you're pre-building a toestop or at least giving that option, you might go right in the center "X" between the four front bolt holes, or else forward of that, between the front two bolt holes. This is what I've got on one of my LDPs and it works great for either goofy or regular, assuming it's not a form-fitting, shoe-shaped toestop, just a generically circular one.

There you go. Ask James if he'd so kindly test that sexy beast for you. Then maybe when he's done he can toss it around on the "pavedwave roggs prototype U.S. tour". Finishing off at your house for the analysis of what's left of it. Two weeks per person, with logs, and data from everyone. Everyone pays to have it shipped to them and you only pay once to ship it back to yourself. I'm a genius... Roggs LDP....tested by everyone!

yeah im not one for running around creating hype, i just prefer to do it than talk about it.
as for the toe stop it will be so you can attach it by mounting it to the trucks mounting bolts or some extra hole just ahead of the 4 main bolts, but i have yet to decide that, or how to go about doing it.
VANILLA GUERILLA thats one way ive never thought about it, and i wouldn't even need it back, but yeah i guess it would end up with who ever decided to keep it

One board, tested & proven by everybody.
hm.
that actually sounds great.
...oher than different preference in flex.
btw loki, did you get my PM?

Stinkin ocean! Makes shipping outrageous...someone come visit me with this in your luggage. Let you borrow my car
Need a LDP board maker in Hawaii....ooo job opportunity!

Ok then, the last person to have it sends it back to James because once everyone beats on it, it would be beneficial to have him re-test the liveliness to see if it's lost it's pop after a 1000 miles. And who better to add that beauty to his quiver than the Ambassador of the discipline. Just my two cents. Being a custom car painter I think your work is excellent and breath of fresh air.

hanael no i didnt
But other than that im still just trying to work out flexs, for the 150range and under i got that no problem, but its a delima of how much glass i want to go with vs going extra wood, but extra wood would make it rather stiff, and i prefer abit of flex but who knows. but i have a green one and a orange one on the go right now

Tester HEREI would test a board for you and would also summarize the ride!

It seems like you have plenty of testers already, but I'm a 150-pound rider if you would like my feedback. I currently ride a Subsonic Pulse and a Carbonated Skates LDP deck.

well what typically happens is alot of people jump at a chance to be a "tester" but i have to be selective in picking people, idealy those who have Previous experience, decent online presence, and will actually give critical feedback.
cause more often than not 85% of the wannabe "testers" just think hey i can get a board for cheap and then they never give feedback or the feedback they give is so vague, or they just disappear all together.
so if i happen to ignore some people don't take any offense to it, im just seeing who i think will work best

no worries. :3

I don't know who has been testing your boards in the past, but I'm sure they weren't from pavedwave. This site is composed of riders who actually do ride....a lot. A lot alot. Like thousands of miles a year. None of us are wannabes, and nobody here wants a free board. You asked for help, we responded. Honestly you're going up against some heavy hitters. Roe, Subsonic, Galac, and the LBL were all designed by James. So give it to him. And if he says it's the bee's knees, I'm sure we'll all plop down the green find out for ourselves. Seacrest out...

hey justin i appreciate your good vibes and votes of confidence in all honesty though i haven't asked Loki about testing this because i just know when time is really tight and how i'll be spending most of my commute miles. just two particular projects on the horizon and I expect they'll be out some time next year. not "improvements" per se to my mainstay the Mermaid, but rather, other options.
i'm always stoked to see new adds to LDP, and this Roggs addition looks very promising! of course if there's a Roggs changing hands from tester to tester, i'd love to put some miles on it later in the cycle.

oh i didn't mean any offense to anyone, just looking for people who might give me the feedback i seek, as for james, yeah totally understandable about you working on those other projects, if i had a huge concern over you testing this board one would of already been shipped your way, but this gives the opportunity to see what other people want .
but VANILLA GUERILLA if you want to be the other tester shoot me a pm, Parson Adams is gonna be getting the other board, still just need to work out flex's though, having some troubles getting the stiffness i want without going with an extra layer of wood which would make it too stiff. So i just have to work that out

Noone's offended, where just stoked to see our sport grow and all want to be apart of it. I'm sorry if people have flaked on you in the past, but hello?... have you seen how sick your boards are? j/k. Anyway, nothing but good vibes here and I can't wait to get my hands on one. I'm already calling it te hammerhead when I describe it to others.

Keep us up to date! Us new guys are curious too...
My next upgrade is going to be to an LDP-specific deck, and I absolutely love the shape of that board.
I positively can't wait to hear what people think of it.
I had some thoughts on flex too-
Couldn't you laminate a center "rail" down the center of the board, which would stiffen the board but allow some twisting flex? I haven't seen anyone do that (but it seems to work strangely well on this little kid's RipStick I tried the other day! )
...or, rails like an old-school vert board, if twisting flex wasn't desired?
Or an idea I thought of while reading the ongoing criticism of Loaded's flexes - why not make only one "flex" board - the softest - and supply with it a rail system of some sort to let someone progressively stiffen the board? Maybe even add some spring, depending on what was used?
On the other hand, that sounds like it would just ADD to the development time on this board - do you have any targets for release?

So what's the latest on this wannabe LDP deck?
|
Loki440
|
the just of it was flexs were giving me troubles then it got sidelined for a few other projects, right now i just need to cut a blank i have all done up for a solid wood version, and if thats gets a stamp of approval from me it will be released for further refinements and testing.
being that winter is here ill have more time for prototyping, well other than prototyping snowboards which im currently getting going right now

I'm pulling the trigger on one of these bad boys. It will be my first LDP board but not my first shot at pumping of course. Anyone have some advice on a setup? It looks like Bennett 5.0 in the picture; is that what you designed it around Loki? What about a 4.3 and 75mm wheels?
